Project Title

Feasibility / Research study Including the Sectorial Review and Supply Chain Analysis Project Titled (Carpet/Rug Making Unit at Awaran, Turbat, Mand & Khuzdar) in Southern Balochistan

Description of the Project

Undertook a comprehensive feasibility and research initiative to explore the potential of the Carpet/Rug Making Industry in Southern Balochistan. This project thoroughly examined the industry's potential, with an in-depth review of related sectors and a comprehensive analysis of the supply chain dynamics. NJHR extensively studied the sectors closely tied to the Carpet/Rug primary industry. We provided thorough research and analysis with valuable insights and recommendations for establishing a Carpet/Rug Making Unit.

Scope of the Project

Scope of work includes:

1· Collect and analyze global trade data of import/export and explore the potential for export from Pakistan or possibilities of import substitution.​

2· Collect and analyze data on primary raw materials, availability, and prices. Manufacturing technologies for value addition/quality improvement in the produce.

3. Suggest an appropriate district of southern Balochistan for establishing a production unit.

4. Identify management structure and human resources.​

5. Identify the requirement of skilled labor, power/energy, and water and their availability at the selected location.

6. Identify the target market of the final produce in terms of local and export.

7. Provide recommendations on business models for the production units, such as fully funded or operated by the Government or used as a PPP arrangement. Also, indicate the extent and nature of government financing. ​
