Description of the Project

Conducted a comprehensive feasibility study. This study paves the way for the relocation of marble units from Warsak Road to the nearest industrial zones, bringing about positive change in the marble industry's growth trajectory. By integrating economic, environmental, and social perspectives, we have contributed to a strategic initiative that promotes progress, sustainability, and enhanced operational efficiency within the marble sector. Our project's scope considers the evaluation of the existing marble units situated on Warsak Road in Peshawar; in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, we assessed the suitability of nearby industrial zones for accommodating the relocated marble units, step-by-step procedure that outlines the smooth and efficient relocation, in-depth socio-economic analysis, environmental mitigation strategies, financial and economic analysis, Regulatory Compliance and Recommendations and other vital aspects.

Scope of the Project

Scope of work includes:

1. The potential of the Marble Industry: · Identification of Marble endowments in District Peshawar and surrounding regions.

. Assessment of natural resource endowments and their potential for industrial use.

· Identification of existing marble units available in the District Peshawar and surrounding areas of Warsak Road Peshawar. Detail mapping on ArcGIS.

· Type of Minerals industry operating in District Peshawar.

· Quantification of Marble Products (Raw and Final Products)

2. Challenges of the Marble Industry: · The available Marble queries at District Mohmand. Detail mapping on ArcGIS, including the GPS points of every unit.

· Major challenges faced by the marble industry.

· Contribution of the Marble industry to the economic growth of the country.

· Problem solution for the revitalization of the marble industry.

· Entire road map utilized by the Marble Units. Describe the sensitive routes regularly used for heavy industrial traffic.

· Availability of land specified under the Mohmand Economic Zone for the marble units to be shifted from Warsak Road to the Mohmand Economic Zone.

· Potential challenges faced by the marble industry in Mohmand Economic Zone Solution for growth of the Marble Industry with the perspective of environmental mitigation.

· Status of marketing of industrial products at local and international levels. Traffic congestion is created by these Marble units and its impact on the other stakeholders.

· To avoid traffic congestion, prepare a Traffic Management Plan.

Methodology and Suitability for Relocation: · The consultant shall provide detailed step-wise procedures required for the smooth relocation of Marble Units. The report shall also include the following.

· To conduct a proper survey to assess the willingness of owners of marble processing units. Propose different methodologies for relocating Marble Units to the nearest Industrial/Economic Zones.

· Aims and objectives for relocation of Marble Units to nearest Economic Zone.

· Data collection of all marble units, including how much machinery they have, the land cost or rental charges, etc., and provide a comprehensive analysis.

· To conduct the socio-economic survey, the consultant shall prepare a detailed questionnaire/proforma and vetted by the client before application.

· Status of Industrial Zones in the region. Road mapping to access the Economic Zone. Status of Infrastructural facilities to the existing marble units where these marble units will be relocated.

· Status of Industrial Zones in the region. Road mapping to access the Economic Zone. Status of Infrastructural facilities to the existing marble units where these marble units will be relocated.

· Status of Industrial Zones in the region. Road mapping to access the Economic Zone. Status of Infrastructural facilities to the existing marble units where these marble units will be relocated.

· Existing disposal system of Marble Units and ultimate disposal.

· Identification of problems/bottlenecks/constraints in active industrialization in the region, its operationalization, and measures for redressal.

· The existing industrial condition of the region, its productivity, marketing, and financial condition.

· Technical, social, commercial, environmental, and financial viability for relocation of Marble Units.

Possible commuting/connecting routes of the intended zones where these marble units will be relocated, with significant economic corridors like "Geostrategic Positioning."

· Propose short-term and long-term Initiatives/incentives to be taken by the government

· To conduct a proper survey to assess the willingness of owners of marble processing units. Propose different methodologies for relocation of Marble Units to the nearest Industrial/Economic Zones or relocation of Marble Units.

· Assessment of Economic Zone in terms of size: these Marble Units can be accommodated in the nearest Economic Zone.

· The study shall also cover value chain analysis/its gaps and the impact of value addition in introducing new technology.

· The study may also discuss the benefits of operating the proposed Center of Excellence in Mohmand EZ for this cluster.

· Public consultation (especially with marble owners of the existing marble factories).

· Questionnaire for all Marble Factories/Industries/locals.

· Focal Group Discussion (FGDs) with Marble Processing Units, Marble Association/Union

· SPSS (Data Analysis Software).

· The consultant must give clear recommendations based on legal administrative grounds on the vacated plots to discourage the construction of these units in the same area/premises.

Environmental Aspects of the Study: · Environmental Assessment for feasibility study and ensure that the national environmental protection guidelines are followed and prepare the environmental protection plan.

· Performs professional work in identifying environmental aspects such as air quality, water quality, solid waste management, chemical technology, and hazardous waste technology. Conducting independent technical and historical research on a variety of environmental issues.

· Quantification of waste water & solid waste. Detail about solid waste generation & effluent discharge from each marble unit & the whole marble units available in District Peshawar. (Waste quantification).

Collecting and analyzing quantitative information regarding marble waste.

· Devise the complete Questionnaire with the consultation of EPA to collect the important information from the Marble Association available in District Peshawar.

· Generating environmental impact profiles for various industries/ industrial processes. Propose a detailed mitigation plan, including utilization of bi-products for manufacturing of other important products.

Financial and Economic Analysis: · Financial implication of the relocation of Marble Units.

· Propose a business plan for successfully relocating Marble Units to the nearest Economic Zone.

· Prepare the financial and economic analysis of the proposed activity.

· Computation of breakeven point, payback period, discounted payback period, return on investment, return on equity, net present value, asset turnover, return on capital employed, and other financial evaluation measures.

· Propose a business plan for successfully relocating Marble · Provide Analysis of Economic Rate of Return (ERR) and Financial Rate of Return (FRR).Units to the nearest Economic Zone.

· Social analysis of the project. i.e., how much job creation can be achieved in the region by relocating Marble Units.
